Our Story

We met before we even knew it! In the scorching summer of 2017, two broke college kids went to work their shift at Gristmill River Restaurant in Gruene, TX. With over 100 servers on the books, we were bound to run each other’s food at some point!

Our second time in each other’s orbit was working at Palmer’s Restaurant in San Marcos, TX. Friendlier in nature due to a smaller staff and high volumes consuming our shifts for the last half of our college careers at Texas State University.

Fast forward thru COVID, one sunny day Aubrey just so happened to slip and slide into Juvelyn’s DMs (“Just looking for a friend” he says) and we chatted about our pups (of course). We didn’t know each other very well outside of supporting each other to make it through a serving shift so we set up some pup playtime at Zilker Park in Austin, TX.

We both showed up expecting nothing, just excited to be back out in the world and reconnecting with society. But boy oh boy, there was so much more in store!

They say third times the charm, right? Well, here we met again purely enjoying each other’s company. Suddenly, spark struck and the flame between us lit.

Since that fateful Zilker day, we have grown together and shared so many beautiful moments. We have experienced many trials, triumphs, and travels over the past 4 years and are grateful for each of them.

We share a love for nature and our boys, Koda & Cooper, and have been lucky enough to experience many National and State Parks together. Our favorite parks so far by far are Big Bend National Park and Garner State Park. These parks are not only naturally glorious, they have been safe spaces for us to spend splendid quality time and share many words of affection on a hike or by the campfire. We found true growth in sticking together through the unsuspecting and gorgeous Mother Nature.

In December 2024, Aubrey was invited back to Texas State to walk the stage after his 2020 commencement ceremony was a bust. Little did Juvelyn know, he had so much more in store for this celebration! Moments after walking the stage, we agreed to meet by the good ol’ San Marcos River and surrounded by family and friends, he popped the question!

And the easiest and most wholehearted YES to the rest of our lives!

We are so excited to continue learning, loving, and growing in this life together.

Including starting this website! We hope to utilize this space as a creative outlet for us to share our stories and memories in this life. Feel free to check back every once in awhile to get a glimpse of what we’re up to on this beautiful journey together. Take what you need and leave the rest. We’re all just walking each other Home.

Cheers!

All Love Always,
Juvelyn & Aubrey
